Travelers at Pittsburgh International Airport experienced delays this Saturday when a loaded .38 caliber revolver was discovered in a woman's carry-on during a routine screening. Officers at the airport found the weapon as they checked the bags of passengers heading towards their flights. According to a statement by the Transportation Security Administration, the checkpoint lane was shut down temporarily while law enforcement responded to the incident.
The firearm belonged to a woman from Creighton, PA, who was subsequently arrested. The rest of the travelers were either held up or redirected to another lane, creating a bottleneck just days before Thanksgiving. This incident marked the 39th firearm intercepted at the Pittsburgh airport in that year alone and the third for November.
