Officers were dispatched at around 9:58 p.m. to the 2100 block of Savannah Terrace, Southeast, following reports of gunfire when they discovered two men with gunshot wounds. One victim was found conscious and was promptly sent for medical care, suffering non-life-threatening injuries, while the other was soon after pronounced dead at a local hospital.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the victim has been identified as Lorenzo Campbell Jr., age 25, from Fort Washington, MD. Responding officers from the Seventh District and DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services teams collaborated to provide assistance and initiate the investigation.
