Rock Hill police are investigating an ATM robbery that happened yesterday afternoon. According to a report by WBTV, three men demanded an ATM maintenance worker to step away from his work at the PNC Bank on the corner of India Hook Road and Herlong Avenue, shortly before making off with cash boxes and escaping in a black sedan.
The robbery, which occurred around 2:40 p.m., saw the suspects clad in all black and with bandanas obscuring their features, WCCB Charlotte reports. Notable in reports is the absence of any weapons used during the incident, suggesting that the threat of force alone was enough to compel the worker's compliance.
Early this morning, local law enforcement had not yet made any arrests in connection with the theft, nor had they released any images of the alleged perpetrators or their vehicle, despite the incident occurring in broad daylight. The story is simple: three men, a black vehicle, and a pile of untraceable cash vanished without a trace.
The lack of immediate leads or visuals leaves a void that the Rock Hill Police Department is eager to fill, inviting anyone with information to come forward. Such details, they hope, might emerge from the public to aid in their investigations, as noted by WCNC.
