
Marvin Santos of Salem, New Hampshire, stood before a judge in the Lawrence District Court following his arraignment on charges stemming from a fatal crash that claimed the life of 38-year-old Christina Solivan, a mother of three from Lawrence. The Essex County District Attorney's Office reported that Santos’ Jaguar collided with Solivan's Trailblazer on Route 93 in the early morning hours of November 16.
According to authorities, the collision occurred south of Route 495 in Andover at about 3:43 a.m., leaving Solivan in critical condition before she succumbed to her injuries after being MedFlighted to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Having sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Santos received medical attention at Lawrence General Hospital where he was transported after the accident.
In the aftermath of the tragic event, Santos faced serious charges including homicide by operating a motor vehicle in a negligent manner and under the influence of alcohol, a felony; he also faces a second offense of operating under the influence, a misdemeanor, along with two civil motor vehicle infractions. At his arraignment, Santos pled not guilty. "The Hon. Sarah Kennedy set bail at $5,000," the Office of Essex County District Attorney reported. Entangled in the legal proceedings, Santos is scheduled to return to court for a probable cause hearing on January 7, 2025.
