San Luis voters have decided on their city council representatives and the fate of two key propositions in the General Election held earlier this month. According to final results canvassed during Wednesday's Council Meeting and shared by the City of San Luis, Luis E. Cabrera, Esteban Rosales, and Lizeth Servin are set to quickly take up the mantle of leadership after securing their council seats in a competitive race.
In the breakdown of votes, Cabrera led with 2,920 votes or 19.67% of the total, followed closely by Rosales with 2,916 votes (19.65%), and Servin with 2,709 votes (18.25%). Two pivotal propositions were also at stake in the General Election. Proposition 430, granting a franchise to Southwest Gas, and Proposition 431, about the Home Rule Option, both passed. Proposition 430 passed with 3,618 yes votes to 2,713 no votes, as per the City of San Luis, while Proposition 431 saw a narrower victory with 3,382 supporting votes against 3,058 in opposition.
The elected council members are scheduled to be sworn in at the council meeting on December 11, with a farewell and welcome reception to follow immediately. For full election results and further details, visit the official announcement of the City of San Luis.
