Seattle Police apprehended a suspect with a history of eluding incidents after a chase resulting in vehicle damage and temporary traffic disruption. The arrest occurred yesterday following the officers' identification of the suspect's car, which was connected to prior eluding cases in Auburn and Seattle, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Police found the suspect, a man reportedly in his 50s to 60s, asleep in the vehicle. He prepared for a high-risk stop by placing Terminator devices beneath the car. Upon driving over the devices, he managed to flatten both rear tires but continued to attempt an escape. In the process, having driven through a red light, the suspect lost control of the car, which resulted in a collision with several vehicles, a wall, and eventually a light pole.
The incident escalated when the suspect, refusing to be restrained, rammed into a patrol vehicle before realizing his escape was futile. The Seattle Police Department reported that the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident. A drug recognition expert arrived at the scene shortly after.
