
A pedestrian incident on Interstate 40 in Sevierville resulted in the death of a man on Wednesday night. Sevierville Police responded to a call from a motorist at approximately 10:20 p.m., leading to the discovery of 61-year-old Craig Olcott on the side of the interstate, according to a report by WVLT. Initially found alive but not responsive, Olcott later succumbed to his injuries at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
Given the circumstances found at the scene, police have suggested that Olcott's injuries were consistent with a vehicular encounter. An autopsy is to be performed to confirm the exact cause of death.
