A DoorDash driver in Springfield faced an armed robbery while out on delivery this past Saturday. The incident unfolded near Briarcliff Lane and Wyndtree Drive around 9:30 p.m., moments after the driver had left their vehicle to carry out a delivery. According to the WOODTV, three men, described as Black and aged between 18 and 25, accosted the driver.
Details as specified by the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office indicate the suspects were wearing ski masks and dark-colored clothes at the time of the robbery. It was reported by the Country Herald that one suspect who had a heavy-set build brandished a pistol and, demanding the driver's personal belongings and the food order, they then escaped in a white SUV. Notwithstanding the seriousness of the crime, the make and model of the getaway vehicle was not clear.
