
A Statesville community is grappling with the unsettling aftermath of a violent robbery and kidnapping incident that took place on Winterfield Road earlier this month. According to QC News, Iredell County Sheriff's Office responded to a call on November 14 about an assault and robbery, whereupon arrival, they found the victim suffering from neck redness and lacerations to his arms and legs after allegedly being choked unconscious by two attackers.
Through their investigation and subsequent interviews, detectives identified the suspects as Christopher Minier, a 32-year-old Mooresville resident, and Corey Combs, a 45-year-old from Statesville. As reported by WBTV, authorities have apprehended one of them, while the latter remains at large. Combs, discovered in disguise wearing a wig and hat, was arrested with additional misdemeanor charges when deputies found marijuana and drug paraphernalia on his person.
Furthermore, Combs is accused of yet another crime where he has allegedly kidnapped a woman and forced her to drive him around. The woman managed to escape before Combs stole her vehicle. WCNC adds that his charges extend to felony kidnapping, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, and communicating threats.
The combined accounts of the events highlight a spree of illegal activity that has prompted a response from the community and authorities alike, the Sheriff's Office is fervently searching for Minier, requesting that anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.
