Early Wednesday in North Memphis, two vehicles linked to a burglary collided with a Memphis Police Department cruiser, sparking a search for the suspects. According to Action News 5, the first vehicle reversed into the police car's driver's side before fleeing. A second stolen vehicle then backed into the same side of the cruiser, and the occupants ran on foot.

As detailed by WREG, the initial collision occurred when MPD officers responded to a burglary at North Second Street and Greenlaw Avenue around 3:30 a.m. The officer, after parking to respond, witnessed the second car that backed into the cruiser's door before the suspects dashed away, further complicating the pursuit.

Currently, despite the disruptive events, no persons were reported injured during the incidents. Local Memphis notes that following the collisions, the suspects managed to evade capture and remain at large, prompting law enforcement officials to seek assistance from the public in the ongoing investigation.

The search for the suspects is ongoing. MPD has urged anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
