A Tampa resident, Bryan Robert Eckley, aged 46, stands accused of planting two explosives at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino, leading to the facility's evacuation. Last month, this local haunt was abruptly cleared out when a casino employee stumbled upon what was described as "crude concealed device with firework components" in a men's restroom. According to WFLA, Eckley was apprehended this Wednesday and is now confronted with charges of making and deploying destructive devices intended to cause harm.

The investigation, a confluence of efforts from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), the FBI, and local law enforcement, disclosed that Eckley employed disguises, burner phones, and an alias. An FDLE official was quoted asserting, "He was very good, but we're better," a statement obtained by WFLA. The Hillsborough County Jail is presently Eckley's place of confinement, with an aggravated assault with a firearm also on his charge sheet from an arrest made by the local sheriff's office on September 27.

As reported by FOX 13 News, the authorities announced the bombs to be radio-controlled, placed with some ingenuity within the establishment's facilities. The defusal of these explosives allowed for guests' return to the premises, but the hunt for the perpetrator was only beginning.

State Attorney Suzy Lopez is set to take over the proceedings, with Eckley facing up to 30 years in a state prison. The charges laid against him dictate a punitive trajectory that could have him detained for a substantial portion of his remaining years. The joint task force emphasized the level of detail and collaboration in their pursuit to apprehend Eckley, with FDLE Tampa Bay Special Agent in Charge Mark Brutnell praising the "exceptional work of this investigative and forensic team" in a statement obtained by Tampa Bay Times.
