An inferno ravaged a residential area in Allenport Borough, Washington County, leaving one house in ruins and another with significant damage. The blaze, which ignited on Main Street around 6:30 p.m. yesterday, was reported by local fire officials.
Neighbor Brandon Veschio recounted the harrowing experience to WPXI, "I heard three big booms. Next thing you know, the house is engulfed," Veschio said. The fire started in a house owned by a man whose sister lived next door. The property catching fire was vacant. In a race against time, a good Samaritan alerted the unsuspecting residents, leading to a swift evacuation.
According to CBS Pittsburgh, emergency services were dispatched from various departments, including Stockdale, Roscoe, Fallowfield Township, and Charleroi. The Red Cross was also called to assist the affected families, but unfortunately, neither of the two primary residential properties was insured.
Veschio described the ordeal as "the worst thing that could happen on the night before Thanksgiving." Despite the Thanksgiving Eve tragedy, firefighters heroically saved a cat, commendably, there were no human casualties.
