The White Settlement Community Services has cued up another installment of its Polar Express Night, an annual event that scores points for family fun with a side of nostalgia. According to a White Settlement Community Services' social media post from the group, they are "ready for some holiday magic" as they extend an invitation to the local community to keep a "wonderful tradition" alive at the Parks and Recreation Department this December.
Mark your calendars for Friday, December 13, when at 6:30 PM, the Recreation Center transforms into a festive cinema; children are encouraged to slip into their pajama bests and grip their special tickets—soon to be punched by a conductor—with visions of the North Pole dancing in their heads while they enjoy a hot chocolate bar and an assortment of snacks, and just like that, a children’s book classic hops off the page and onto the screen.
This isn't just a play-and-walk event—the focus here is full immersion, with a nod to the Chris Van Allsburg picture book that’s been a bedtime favorite and a dream screen adaptation that’s warmed the holiday season for many since its release.
