The streets of Wilmington were the backdrop of a disturbing encounter that unfolded in the early hours of November 14, leading to a recent arrest by the Wilmington Police Department. According to a Wilmington Police Department report, officers from the Uniformed Services Division were called to the 3000 block of North Market Street after a report of an aggravated menacing incident involving a firearm was made.
Investigations quickly followed, allowing authorities to soon enough identify 23-year-old Nykii Brown as the suspect. Warrants for his arrest were promptly obtained. Nearly a week later, last Wednesday, Brown was located by the Gun Intelligence Unit and apprehended in the 3000 block of North Jefferson Street. It was during this arrest that Brown was found to have a loaded 9mm handgun.
Brown now faces multiple charges, which include Aggravated Menacing, Terroristic Threatening, and two counts of Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon. The suspect was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11. Following his arraignment, he was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution. The bail was set at $27,000, secured.
