A shocking incident at a South Memphis McDonald's has culminated in the arrest of a woman accused of stabbing a customer in the face with a screwdriver during an attempted robbery in the restaurant’s drive-thru. According to a report by WREG, the attack occurred near the intersection of Lamar and Airways on Trezevant Street, with police alleging that Ashley Davis, 39, approached the victim's car window demanding money, wielding what appeared to be a screwdriver when the victim stated she had none.
After the victim informed Davis she did not have any money, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the face while uttering, "You should’ve had some money b****," as recounted in a report by Action News 5. The suspect attempted to flee the scene but was seen running on Lamar Avenue by officers who then engaged in a struggle to detain her as she resisted arrest, pushing and kicking at the officers before being taken into custody.
Emergency services, summoned to the scene, provided medical treatment to the injured woman at the location of the incident; however, she declined further medical attention and refused to be transported to the hospital. In the aftermath, Davis has been charged with aggravated assault and resisting official detention, as detailed by FOX13 Memphis.
Davis is being held and due for an appearance in Shelby County Court, with her bond set at $25,000.
