The Ventura County law enforcement officers, as part of the Ventura County Fentanyl and Overdose Crimes Units (VC FOCUS), have arrested 24-year-old Ronald Joseph from Woodland Hills on allegations of narcotics sales. According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, the arrest took place on November 13, after an undercover operation involving social media and surveillance work.
Joseph, supposedly advertising the sale of illicit fentanyl pills on social media, was contacted by detectives who arranged undercover purchases. Detectives closely monitored Joseph, determining his involvement in a network of fentanyl distribution to residents within Ventura County. With a search warrant executed at his apartment in Woodland Hills, they found and seized over 1,000 counterfeit M-30 pills and a handgun.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Office indicates that the suspect has previously been convicted and is known as a gang member out of Los Angeles County. Detained in Newbury Park as he allegedly tried to conduct a narcotics deal, Joseph faces charges that include possession for sales of controlled substances and possession of a firearm by a felon, among others.
Joseph, who was booked into the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility and is ineligible for bail due to his parole status, represented a pressing risk to the community, his apartment serving as a base for operations in narcotics distribution as per the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
