Nearly 20 Cleveland ISD students were hospitalized following a collision between two school buses this morning. The incident occurred at the intersection of Hwy 105 and Hwy 321 near Cleveland Middle School. Despite the alarming nature of the event, the injuries sustained were described as minor. In an update shared on social media, Cleveland ISD stated, "Transportation is now contacting parents directly regarding their children. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we focused on the immediate safety and well-being of our students." Students who were evaluated and found to be without serious harm were transported to Cleveland Middle School and are now being monitored by the school's nursing staff, according to Click2Houston.
As part of their ongoing response, the district has been proactive in communicating with the families of those affected.
