A man lost his life in a stabbing incident that took place on East Pebble Road on Sunday, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). At 1:13 p.m., officers were called to the 1400 block where they found a male victim with a stab wound. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators from the LVMPD Homicide Section were able to determine that the incident began as a verbal altercation within an apartment between the victim and 81-year-old Juan Garcia-Hernandez. The confrontation escalated, leaving the unnamed victim with fatal injuries. Garcia-Hernandez has since been detained and charged with open murder, as reported by the LVMPD official release.
The identity of the deceased along with the specific cause and manner of death will be provided by the Clark County Coroner’s Office at a later time. LVMPD's current priority is gathering more information and they urge the community to come forward with any relevant details.
