
Last Friday morning, an altercation on a southbound 5 train in Manhattan escalated to violence, resulting in the assault of an 83-year-old man. According to ABC7NY, the dispute occurred as the train neared Fulton Street Station just after 6 a.m. The suspect is accused to have repeatedly punched the elderly victim in the face.
The incident quickly drew the attention of the NYPD as they strive to swiftly identify the individual responsible. In a statement obtained by SILive, the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information relayed that the attack left the victim with lacerations to his face and head, requiring treatment at Kings County Hospital. The assailant fled the scene on foot and is currently being sought by the police.
