Bellevue Police were called to a horrific scene in the Crossroads neighborhood after residents reported hearing screams from a nearby residence. According to an announcement on the Bellevue Beat Blog, the incident occurred on the 15200 block of NE 20th Street around 1:48 p.m. on Monday.

Upon arrival, officers were forced to make entry into the home where they detained an 87-year-old male suspect. Inside, the police discovered an 86-year-old female with multiple stab wounds to her chest. Despite the efforts of Bellevue Police and Fire to administer lifesaving care, she was declared deceased at the scene. The article quoted by the Bellevue Beat Blog stated, "The suspect was placed in custody without issue."

The Bellevue Beat Blog also reported that due to the suspect's swift apprehension, there is no ongoing threat to the public.
