Australians are ready to rock the states again as AC/DC confirms their tour date at Raymond James Stadium on May 16, 2025. Nearly a decade has passed since the land of the free has seen the "Back In Black" rockers energize its arenas. As reported by WFLA, AC/DC is charting a 13-city course through the US, reviving the high voltage rock that is a staple of their musical identity. The Tampa stop is a part of the global "Power Up" tour, promising to be a night flush with classic riffs and ear-splitting solos.
The "Power Up" tour, which WFLA notes as underlying their latest 2020 album, is making quite the splash. With the original band members Angus Young and Brian Johnson, the group aims to continue to electrically dominate the rock scene. Tampa locals can prep to quickly snap up tickets starting Friday at midday, as per WTSP's highlight of the event.
Historically, AC/DC's reputation as one of the "most influential rock bands in history" is not up for debate. With over 200 million copies sold worldwide, their album accolades, detailed by WTSP, speak volumes, underscored by the fact that "Back In Black" is celebrated as the third best-selling album by any artist. Acknowledging the band's prowess, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame welcomed AC/DC into its hallowed ranks back in 2003, a milestone also covered by WTSP.
The quintet's lineup, as featured in the most recent tour, includes rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug, and bassist Chris Chaney. Together, they plan to deliver a broad sound spectrum that has, over five decades, firmly gripped rock enthusiasts. In their last performance on the European leg of their tour, ABC Action News reported that the band brought down the house with a blend of classics and new hits, a teaser of what's to expect in the upcoming tour. AC/DC's unwaning passion to perform is evident; the next generation of attendees will surely be "Thunderstruck."
Complete tour dates and ticket information can be found on the various reporting outlets, including the previously noted ABC Action News among others. For those about to rock, we salute you–and so does AC/DC.
