
Tragedy struck over the weekend in southwest Michigan when a vehicle was hit by a train, resulting in one fatality and leaving three minors injured. As detailed by The Detroit News, the incident occurred around 7 p.m. last Saturday at a railroad crossing in Coloma. The collision proved fatal for the adult driver, while three children aboard the vehicle were transported to a hospital in stable condition.
Coloma Township Police responded to the scene at Clements Court just north of East Logan Street, where they found the damaged vehicle and immediately confirmed the casualties. Based on a report from CBS News Detroit, the names of the victims have not been released as authorities are pending notification of their families.
This latest incident adds to a growing list of train-related accidents in Michigan.
