The Zilker Park holiday tree lighting ceremony is back for its 58th year on Sunday at 2100 Barton Springs Road. To accommodate large crowds, attendees are encouraged to carpool or use CapMetro for transportation. Onsite parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a recommendation to approach via eastbound Barton Springs Road. Austin Energy has set up a 155-foot holiday tree decorated with 3,309 LED bulbs, as reported by CBS Austin.
According to FOX 7 Austin, the Zilker Holiday Tree in Austin is a popular spot, known for its bright yellow swirl of lights. Clint Correll, the Electrical Maintenance Superintendent, said, "Everybody's always smiling and happy when they're here." He also mentioned, "You can take a spin under the tree, see the iconic swirl of the yellow bulbs. Actually, all the bulbs swirl, but the yellow ones actually are the ones that stand out." The tree is located near one of Austin's 15 remaining moonlight towers. Correll noted, "They're the only ones remaining in the country that are actual moon towers." The tree will stay lit until January 1, 2025.
