
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is turning to the public for assistance in their search for a suspect alleged to have set fire to a local daycare facility. The incident, which occurred at God's Little Blessings Daycare on Cumberland Road in Fayetteville, took place around 5:24 p.m. this past Thursday, as reported by CBS17. In a fortunate turn of events, there were no individuals present inside the daycare at the time of the blaze.
Surveillance footage retrieved from the scene prominently features a shirtless man, donned in what appears to be gray or light brown pants complemented by boots. This image has been released by the deputies in hopes that members of the community may recognize and help identify the suspect. According to WRAL, the Sheriff’s Office is aggressively pursuing leads and is urging anyone who has information about the arson to step forward.
In an effort to cast a wider net, authorities are motivating witnesses or individuals with knowledge of the incident to contact Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Fire Investigator Tyndall at (910) 677-5499.
