The streets of Avondale are set to undergo a series of repairs starting January 1, 2025, as part of the city's Pavement Preservation Program. This effort, led by the Avondale Public Works Department and facilitated by M.R. Tanner Construction, aims to maintain and improve the condition of the area's roadways. Residents within the affected subdivisions can expect lane restrictions and potential closures during the repair period, which is scheduled to run through January 8, 2025, according to the City of Avondale.
Officials are preparing to minimize inconvenience for locals. Notices will be posted, and residents will receive door hangers alerting them 48 hours before work begins, as reported by the City of Avondale. The construction will take place between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. A word of caution for vehicle owners: if a car is left in a work zone, it risks being towed at the owner’s expense.
The repair schedule targets specific areas on set dates, starting with Cashion blocks 1, 2, 3, and segments of Garden Lakes and Rancho Santa Fe on January 2nd. The subsequent days will focus on areas such as Dysart Ranch and Sanctuary Parcels, with the initiative wrapping up on January 8th in neighborhoods like CW Ranch and Cambridge Estates. However, schedules may shift due to issues like equipment malfunctions, weather, or material supply delays, to preserve public safety throughout the operations, as detailed by the City of Avondale.
While road repairs are in progress, Avondale residents won't need to worry about disruptions to trash services. Bulk and regular waste collection will continue without interruption. The city advises residents to place bulk trash by the curbside by 5 a.m. on their service week and regular trash similarly by 5 a.m. on collection day.
