Bell Textron Inc., a subsidiary of Textron, is expanding its operations in Fort Worth, strengthening the city's role in the U.S. aerospace industry. Governor Greg Abbott announced that Bell's new aircraft manufacturing facility is the first project to qualify under the Texas Jobs, Energy, Technology, and Innovation (JETI) program. "Bell is a critical part of the Texas manufacturing sector," Abbott said during an event at Bell's Manufacturing Technology Center. The expansion will create over 400 jobs and involves a $429 million investment, supported by a $2.67 million Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant, as per the Office of the Governor release.

Senator Tan Parker said in the same release, "Bell Textron’s decision to invest $429 million in a new advanced manufacturing facility and create over 400 new jobs underscores Texas’ leadership in aerospace innovation," while Bell President and CEO Lisa Atherton noted, "The U.S. Army’s Future Long Range Assault Aircraft will revolutionize Army aviation, and Bell is proud that one of the most critical FLRAA manufacturing sites will be in Fort Worth. The continued support from our state, local, and regional leaders has been pivotal in our success to attract top talent and become one of the largest aerospace employers in North Texas."

Local leaders have expressed support for Bell's upcoming site. Mayor Mattie Parker emphasized Fort Worth's expanding role in aerospace production and praised the collaboration of state leadership. Superintendent Mark Foust of Northwest Independent School District recognized the potential benefits for students, expressing enthusiasm for the valuable opportunities for their award-winning career and technical education programs through this partnership.

The collaboration of state and local entities has been crucial in bringing this project to life. Robert Allen, President & CEO of the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership, described it as a team effort. Denton County Judge Andy Eads also expressed excitement about partnering with Bell Textron to ensure the success of the initiative, which will strengthen the local economy for decades and highlight Denton County's growth potential.
