The Benbrook Fire Department teamed up with Chick-fil-A Benbrook in a community outreach event that had the local heroes parking their shiny red engines amidst families and fans. The "Touch A Truck: Fire Truck Edition," a meet-and-greet held last Saturday, allowed citizens a close-up encounter with the people who protect them from the flames.
According to a social media post from the Benbrook Fire Department, the day was made even sweeter with a charitable angle: For every 6ct Chocolate Chunk Cookie sold through the end of December, Chick-fil-A commits $1 to the BFD. The event was not only a gesture of appreciation for these first responders but also a fundraiser, wherein the local community could contribute directly to the funding of their fire department.
The fire truck event, complete with a Firefighter Cow mascot to entertain the kids, was a hit among the Benbrook locals. The event underscores a synergistic relationship between the fire department and the local Chick-fil-A franchise, one rooted in mutual support and community engagement.
