In a show of community engagement, officers from the Boston Police Department's District D-14 lit up the night in Allston during the official Tree Lighting ceremony. The festive event, which took place last night, was part of the department's ongoing effort to foster closer ties with residents and actively participate in neighborhood activities. According to the official Boston Police Department website, the night was not only about bright lights but also included holiday-themed fun, such as hot chocolate and a visit from Santa Claus.
Building on the yuletide spirit, attendees were invited to further express their holiday joy by decorating wreaths at the Jackson Mann Community Center. This post-tree lighting activity aimed not only to envelop the community in a shared sense of tradition but also to create opportunities for officers and civilians to interact in a space of creativity and cheer. "Community Policing," as noted by the BPD, is more than just a strategy; it's about "building connections and strengthening the bond between our officers and the neighborhoods we serve."
Appreciation was extended to all those who participated, with a special thank you directed towards the residents of Allston for their warm reception and enthusiasm. It is through these gatherings that the department hopes to continually fortify its relationship with the public.
