Bradley Cooper, the Oscar-nominated actor, is making headlines for his new culinary venture. He has teamed up with Danny DiGiampietro of Angelo's Pizzeria to open a Philly cheesesteak spot called Danny & Coop’s in New York's East Village, as reported by Eater. Scheduled to officially open in January 2025, the pop-up preview at 151 Avenue A, near East 10th Street, saw a long line of patrons over the weekend, eager to sample the popular Philadelphia dish.

While the restaurant's permanent opening is still ahead, the pop-up event on December 20, 21, and 22 offered locals a preview of what’s to come. Located across from Tompkins Square Park, the pop-up served its signature Philly cheesesteak as the only menu item, which may have helped streamline service and reduce wait times. Reports indicated that the line had cleared by 6:45 p.m. on the first evening, according to People.

The actor's involvement extends beyond a symbolic partnership, with social media posts and eyewitnesses indicating that Cooper played an active role in the kitchen. He was seen working alongside DiGiampietro's family, who are overseeing the operations, as they prepared sandwiches with "Cooper sharp and onions." Cooper's girlfriend, model Gigi Hadid, also helped promote the soft opening by sharing it on her Instagram stories, drawing more attention to the event, People reports.

This dive into the food industry isn't Cooper's first endeavor serving up cheesesteaks, following a previous stint in December of last year when he and DiGiampietro ran a pop-up food truck in the West Village, wherein $18 cheesesteaks were sold and apparently well-received, the partnership persisted despite New York's infamously steep rent prices which initially posed a significant challenge with DiGiampietro retelling the hurdles of finding a permanent spot for Danny & Coop’s to People, adding "You know what they want in this neighborhood for 700 square feet?" He added, "Eighteen thousand a month!"

Cooper is expanding his career into the culinary field with his role as a co-owner of Danny & Coop’s. The strong interest in the pop-up, seen in the long lines and social media attention, suggests a positive reception for the East Village's new cheesesteak spot when it officially opens in January.
