A 63-year-old man from Brighton was arrested after a fatal hit-and-run that killed a 22-year-old bicyclist in Livingston County. The accident happened around 1:40 a.m. on Monday. The victim, a Howell resident, was biking home after a night shift, according to ClickOnDetroit.
A crash occurred on Old US-23 Highway near Bergin Road, with the incident first reported by an unrelated passerby. While no eyewitnesses were identified, authorities, including the Michigan State Police, Livingston County Sheriff, and Hamburg Township police, were able to identify the suspect vehicle as a white 2013 Ford F-150 based on debris left at the scene, as per FOX 2 Detroit.
A driver involved in a hit-and-run was arrested within two hours, but it's still unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors. Police have not released the names of the victim or the suspect, and they are asking anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues, as reported by WLNS.
