A 36-year-old man was stabbed to death outside his Bronx home yesterday morning, according to police reports. The fatal attack occurred near E. Tremont Ave. and Morris Ave. in Morris Heights. The victim, identified as Arkmayer Davis, suffered stab wounds to his torso, leg, and arm around 11:40 a.m. NY Daily News reported.
Emergency responders transported Davis to Saint Barnabas Hospital, however, he was pronounced deceased following his arrival. Davis resided on the very block where the incident occurred, no arrests have been made in the case as of yet, News 12 added additional context, noting that the NYPD Crime Scene Unit was spotted collecting evidence on the scene including drops of blood on the apartment building's steps, and that surveillance footage capturing a preliminary altercation between Davis and the assailant inside a local laundromat has been retrieved.
The footage reportedly showed a disagreement after one of the men tossed a cellphone onto a table inside the establishment, leading to a verbal dispute. Sources say that bloodstains were visible on the steps of the apartment building where the stabbing took place, and detectives were believed to be collecting additional video evidence that may shed light on the incident.
