A team of Bucks County prosecutors and detectives has been recognized for their exceptional work in dismantling a multi-million-dollar crime ring. According to an announcement made on the Bucks County government website, Deputy District Attorney Edward Furman Jr., Chief Deputy District Attorney Jovin Jose, Deputy District Attorney Megan A. Hunsicker, Detective Tim Johnson, and Detective Richard Munger received the Investigator of the Year Award for their efforts in cracking down on the theft of catalytic converters across the Delaware Valley region.
The team’s recognition came during a banquet in Philadelphia last Wednesday, hosted by the International Association of Special Investigations Units, and the Pennsylvania Auto Crime Investigators Association. Over the course of nearly a year, these individuals worked tirelessly to gather evidence, leading to charges against a Philadelphia tow yard and 12 suspects in June 2023.
In a statement obtained by the Bucks County, District Attorney Jennifer Schorn expressed her pride in the team's achievement, saying, “This case did not just dismantle a criminal enterprise but sent a clear message to those who knowingly deal in stolen goods that we will use every resource to identify then prosecute you.” The award acknowledges the significant impact of their investigation, which not only dismantled a profitable illegal operation but also acts as a deterrent for future crimes.
