A somber holiday tale unfolded in Butler Township as a family dispute escalated to violence on Christmas Eve. According to WPXI, Logan Rapsinski, 22, has been charged with attempted homicide following a shooting involving his brother. Police allege the incident occurred around 10 p.m. on the night before Christmas.

Neighbor Zachary Witty recounted to WPXI being amid a holiday tradition when disruption struck. "I was actually wrapping Christmas presents late night and then I heard what sounded like gunshots," he said. In his shock, Witty observed two trucks outside his window, and the following screams spurred him to call the authorities. Responding officers reportedly found the victim with a gunshot wound in the groin area.

The confrontation between the Rapsinski brothers took a disturbing turn when Logan allegedly fired upon his sibling during an encounter on a quiet neighborhood street. The victim had sought Logan out after he left their home agitated, as detailed by WTAE. This pursuit ended in tragedy, with the victim sustaining a serious injury and Logan fleeing the scene.

Following the shooting, Rapsinski himself made contact with police and was arrested. In a conversation with law enforcement, Rapsinski claimed that he shot from approximately 14 feet away after his brother threatened to beat him up. Apart from attempted homicide, Rapsinski is facing two counts of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, as noted in the affidavit. The victim remains in stable condition at a local hospital.
