Tampa residents can anticipate a shift in weather conditions from today's balmy sunny skies to potential thunderstorms by mid-week. The area experienced patchy fog early this morning, later giving way to mostly sunny conditions, with a high expected to reach near 80 degrees. As the day progresses, a gentle easterly breeze is set to veer southwesterly, according to the National Weather Service.
Tonight, the mostly cloudy skies will usher in a mild low around 66 degrees. However, impending showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm are forecasted for tomorrow before 1 p.m., with a 60 percent chance of precipitation. "New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible," reports the National Weather Service. Following the potential downpour, temperatures are expected to peak at about 76 degrees early in the day before making a noticeable dip to 64 degrees.
The forecast also suggests brisk winds, with gusts possibly reaching 21 mph, will persist into tomorrow night, creating cooler, clearer conditions and a significant drop in temperature to a low around 43 degrees. As the week advances, the weather is predicted to clear up significantly.
Thursday looks to bring sunny skies with a high near 62 degrees, and a consistent northeasterly wind around 10 mph. The clear weather is projected to continue into the weekend, with daytime temperatures rebounding to the mid-70s and nighttime lows settling in the upper 50s. By Sunday, the forecast anticipates a day full of sunshine and a high near 78 degrees, perfect for any outdoor plans, before dipping into the mainly clear night with a low around 58.
