Chapel Hill residents should prepare for detours as E. Rosemary Street closes between Henderson and Columbia Streets from Saturday to December 18 for two major projects. Parking will remain available.
As announced by the Town of Chapel Hill, detours are planned: drivers and cyclists will use E. Franklin Street, while pedestrians will follow separate detour signs.
For parking during construction, the town is directing drivers to the Rosemary Deck via North Street and Columbia Street, the Wallace Deck via Henderson Street, and the Rosemary/Columbia lot via Columbia Street to ensure easy access.
The Town of Chapel Hill and OWASA are working together to minimize disruptions. OWASA is repairing a water main and will notify affected customers about a 12-hour water outage. Meanwhile, the Town of Chapel Hill is building a new crosswalk to improve pedestrian safety between the new parking deck and Franklin Street, both efforts aimed at enhancing daily life in Chapel Hill.
An update will be provided when E. Rosemary St. reopens to traffic. To stay informed, sign up for "Our Town," the Town of Chapel Hill newsletter with news, events, and important updates.
