
A tragic incident unfolded last week in Charlotte's South Division, where a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle. On the afternoon of last Tuesday, 69-year-old Nona Fahl sustained life-threatening injuries after being hit by a Kia Telluride and was subsequently pronounced deceased after her transport to Atrium Health Main, as reported by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
According to authorities, the collision occurred at around 4:13 p.m. in the 7500 block of Stonecroft Park Drive; the driver of the involved vehicle, Ryan Poage, 34, was unharmed, the intensive investigation approach by the CMPD's Major Crash Investigation Unit and DWI Task Force is currently in motion, with additional support from Crime Scene Search to collate crucial evidence from the location and hospital alike, and Charlotte Fire Department personnel rendered aid at the scene.
The initial findings suggest turmoil for Fahl, who was amidst crossing Colony Road from Stonecroft Park Drive when the accident took place.
