The holiday spirit shone brightly in Culver City after local police returned a stolen trailer packed with recreational gear to the non-profit organization Walk 'n Rollers, ensuring that festivities would not be dimmed by thievery. According to a KTLA report, the trailer was reported stolen on November 22, sparking earnest investigations by the Culver City Police Department. Their efforts culminated in an arrest and the trailer's recovery, though many of the original items were still missing.
Despite the setback many of the organization's scooters and bikes were not recovered after the initial discovery, Culver City officers embarked on a mission to gather resources and replace the missing equipment—a testament to their dedication to community well-being. In a heartwarming turn of events revealed by the Culver City Police Department's Instagram post, officers delivered new bikes, scooters, helmets, and other necessary gear to Walk 'n Rollers leader Jim Shanman just in time for the holiday celebrations.
The generosity of donors from the Culver City Police Foundation and Target was pivotal in replacing the lost equipment, and as officers presented the items to Shanman, he expressed his gratitude. "This is just fantastic," Shanman told KTLA as police carried items to him.
