The City of Dallas and its surrounding areas can expect varied weather conditions in the coming week, from foggy mornings to sunny afternoons. According to the National Weather Service, today Dallas residents woke up to dense fog, which is expected to dissipate by mid-morning. The forecast predicts a gradual clearing with the high nearing a comfortable 68 degrees. Light south winds in the morning are anticipated to become south-southwest, gusting as high as 20 mph.
As night falls, patchy fog is likely to reappear after 5 a.m., with the cloud cover increasing and temperatures dipping to a low of around 52. A slight chance of showers is foreseen between 9 a.m. and noon on Saturday, with another round of patchy fog expected before clearing up to reveal a high near 71. The wind may see a shift from south-southeast to west-northwest in the afternoon, potentially gusting to 20 mph, yet the chance of precipitation remains low at 20%.
The Hazardous Weather Outlook for North and Central Texas cautions that dense fog will affect the region this morning. However, no severe weather is expected, and spotter activation is not anticipated at this time. This alert covers a wide area, including Dallas and several other counties from Montague to Robertson.
Looking ahead, the weather service predicts sunny skies from Sunday through to New Year's Day, with highs ranging from 54 to 77 degrees. The pattern of calm winds turning south-southwest continues, providing residents with relatively mild conditions to wrap up the year. As residents prepare to welcome 2025, gentle winds and clear nights will accompany the transition, despite a dip in temperatures with nighttime lows falling, to the mid-30s by Wednesday night.
