
Authorities in DC are seeking help from the public to find a suspect connected to a recent assault. The Metropolitan Police Department released details about the incident that occurred in Northeast yesterday, prompting a search for those responsible. According to MPD's statement, the assault happened around 11:10 a.m. on the 700 block of 15th Street, Northeast.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, was ambushed by several attackers and was assaulted to the point of losing consciousness. It is currently unclear what provoked the attack. In an effort to rapidly apprehend the suspects, the MPD is now reaching out to the community to hopefully identify those involved. Surveillance footage or any recognizable detail can prove to be pivotal in the ongoing investigation.
Following the attack, DC Fire and EMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital. As per the police report, the injuries sustained by the victim are serious but not life-threatening. The MPD is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that will help to ultimately arrest and indict those responsible for this crime, signaling their commitment to bringing the assailants to justice.
