The annual Stream Clean event is just around the corner, inviting locals to join forces in clearing trash from the city's waterways, the City of Denton announced recently. Scheduled for tomorrow, from 8 a.m. to noon, this year's effort depends on the spirit of community and collaboration, offering opportunities at various locations determined by the role volunteers sign up for.
The City of Denton urges those interested in lending a hand to begin at the Denton Civic Center Pool, located at 515 N. Bell Ave, where breakfast and day-of registration will be served from 8 to 8:45 a.m., the atmosphere is likely to kindle the collective enterprise of neighbors burdened by the task at hand but lightened by company and purpose. All volunteers are required to complete a registration form and sign a waiver ahead of the event, they must bring printed copies with them to pick up their supplies which will include free cleanup materials and a Stream Clean T-shirt, as a token of appreciation and camaraderie.
The cleanup supplies and the commemorative T-shirt can be picked up at the Denton Civic Center, which is situated at 321 E. McKinney St.; these items are a small thank you from the city for the volunteers' investment in local environmental stewardship, in the well-being of the water that supports life and threads through the city like arteries carrying more than water, but the very lifeblood of the community.
