Two suspects are on the run after being captured on camera committing arson on a Detroit property, and police are now appealing to the public for any information. The incident, which took place on May 9 at 10:13 p.m. in the 16800 block of Fielding Street, involved the suspects breaking a house window and throwing a Molotov cocktail inside, igniting a blaze that damaged the first floor, reported ClickOnDetroit.
According to footage of the event, the men attempted to hurl a second Molotov cocktail into the property, but only one managed to penetrate through the broken window, and after their arson attack, the pair escaped on foot, leaving the home with substantial first-floor damage. Fortunately, the house was vacant during the act of vandalism; it was later revealed by the police that the property was being rented out for short-term stays and was expected to host renters the following day when this needless destruction took a place of rest and turned it into a crime scene.
