The beloved Dreamville Music Festival, curated by J. Cole, is set for its grand finale in 2025. After a string of successful events that forged a community through hip hop and strong musical lineups, the festival's organizers are calling it quits on a high note. Per an announcement on Dreamville's social media, fans can expect one last gathering on April 5 and 6, 2025, in Raleigh's Dix Park, ABC11 reports.
The festival, a brainchild of the Fayetteville native and rap superstar, will be celebrating its fifth iteration, reminding everyone "What a ride it's been... We can't thank y'all enough for all the memories we've shared," organizers posted. This event has been an annual hit, except for initial setbacks like Hurricane Florence in 2018 and the pandemic pause. The previous festivals have witnessed star-studded performances, including big names like 21 Savage, SZA, and even an onstage apology from Cole to Kendrick Lamar during 2024's edition, as highlighted by Pitchfork.
In a candid Instagram post, J. Cole reflected on the festival’s journey and the community it carved out, stating, "From the very beginning, the idea behind the fest was creating a place where our fans, the Dreamville community, could spend time together, a place where they could see themselves reflected, a place to share in experiences," Audacy reports. Cole’s vision saw people from diverse backgrounds coming together, creating what he describes as one of "the most fulfilling chapters of our journey."
For those eager to send Dreamville Festival off in style, pre-sale tickets are already available, offering a range of access levels, from general admission to VIP packages. Interested parties can text for access to these early bird tickets, which are noted to be "the least expensive tickets available to the general public with prices increasing as the event date approaches," according to information released by organizers. Those missing the pre-sale window may have a chance during a general ticket sale, if remaining. As for the lineup, organizers have kept mum, but if past years are any indication, announcements may trickle in around early March of next year, as obtained by Audacy.
While the Dreamville Festival curtain call may come as bittersweet news to fans, the event promises to be a celebration of kinship and music that has always set the tone for J. Cole's cultural contributions. As the 2025 festival's preparations begin, the legacy of Dreamville is poised to end on a melodious and memorable note for those who have made it a staple in their music-loving hearts.
