Early yesterday morning, a single-car crash on Interstate 275 in Romulus resulted in one fatality and left another person injured. The incident occurred around 1:40 a.m. near Interstate 94, involved a 2021 Ford Edge veering off the northbound lanes and striking a concrete bridge pillar, as reported by audacy.

The CBS News reports that the force of the collision ejected the front-seat passenger from the vehicle, while the car itself caught fire with the driver trapped inside, leading to his death.

Michigan State Police are working to determine the circumstances of the tragic incident and notify the next of kin. According to a statement from The Detroit News, "The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger went to a local hospital for medical treatment."
