
A major fire occurred last week at a home in the South Belt/Ellington, which caused an estimated $35,000 in damage. The fire broke out in the early hours of last Saturday, at approximately 8:18 a.m., consuming the attic and garage of a residence located on the 11100 block of Sagecanyon Dr, as reported by the Houston Fire Department.
When the first responders arrived, the attic space was filled with thick smoke. Personnel from the Houston Fire Department moved quickly to prevent the surrounding structures from being involved. While ventilating the roof and making sure that every resident was thoroughly searched. There were no reported injuries during the incident. Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire. No further details regarding the investigation have been released to the public.
According to the Houston Fire Department, 49 firefighters responded to the event, representing a large contingency of fire department resources. Firefighters from a number of local stations, including Stations 93, 23, 70, 71, 52, 61, 94, 37, and 24, were among them. The situation in the South Belt/Ellington excavation keeps changing.
