The Fontainebleau is celebrating its one-year anniversary on the Las Vegas Strip with major milestones. The 67-story resort opened on December 13, 2023, offering new dining and entertainment options like Don’s Prime and Chyna Club. Maurice Wooden, President of Fontainebleau Las Vegas, reflected on the year's success, praising the team's efforts. "Every success and milestone achieved this first year is credited to the dedication and passion of our MEMBERS, who create extraordinary experiences for our guests every day," Wooden told News3LV.

The resort, a symbol of perseverance after surviving a global recession and multiple ownership changes, marked its anniversary by sharing impressive statistics. Guests drank over 70,000 espresso martinis and 116,000 beers at The Tavern, while the casino floor served 1.2 million beverages. The resort's culinary operation used 3.5 million eggs and prepared 7.4 million pounds of bee. Under the leadership of Maurice Wooden, a former Wynn Las Vegas executive, Fontainebleau has made strategic changes to strengthen its position in the competitive Vegas hospitality scene.

These shifts included revamping marketing strategies and expanding loyalty programs, such as casino tier matching. As stated in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, "I believe that if we do a good job from point of entry to the experience and every one of those touch points, they think next time, 'Huh. Why am I staying down the street? This place is pretty special. Maybe I should stay here next time," Wooden said.

In addition to internal changes, Fontainebleau has taken steps to expand its influence on the Strip by purchasing five acres south of its current location for $112.5 million. To enhance its offerings, the resort introduced the Oasis Pool Deck and an ice rink. On the sustainability side, Fontainebleau earned three Green Globe Certifications and adopted eco-friendly practices, such as diverting tons of food waste for animal feed, demonstrating a commitment to more than just hospitality.

Wooden and his team plan to keep adapting to the changing needs of Las Vegas visitors. With over 26 vacant acres to the north being considered for further development.
