Two former employees face accusations of grand theft after a Jersey Mike's sandwich shop in Fayette County was burglarized for thousands of dollars. Pennsylvania State Police reported to 712 West Main Street, South Union Township, following the incident, which occurred shortly after midnight on November 4, according to WTAE. The establishment manager informed the authorities that an estimated $6,000 was missing from the safe.
The investigation quickly pointed to Terrell Watson, 25, of Uniontown, and Wesley Haynes, 24, of Elco, who previously worked at the sub shop. In a turn of events that often seems more aligned with a plot detail from a movie than a night at Jersey Mike's, these two are suspected to have planned and carried out the theft. WPXI further reported that the amount stolen was $6,325, noting the discrepancy but not detracting from the gravity of the crime.
State Troopers diligently pursued the alleged perpetrators, following leads that suggested a premeditated act. Both Watson and Haynes have been charged by the police, swiftly responding to what appears to be a clear-cut case of betrayal and criminality.
