A joint effort between Framingham Police and K-9 units assuaged community fears at Fuller Middle School today amid concerns over a suspected threat. A witness near Warren Road and Prindiville Avenue reported observing a minor seemingly in possession of a weapon; however, a rigorous search led by law enforcement concluded with no such threat being found.
The incident began when a local resident noticed a juvenile dropping an object alleged to resemble a weapon, then retrieving it before heading towards the school, the Framingham Police Department detailed on their Facebook page; the unidentified juvenile later clarified the object as a cellphone, the commotion prompted school officials to implement a stay in place safeguarding both staff and students.
Police intervention included the deployment of K-9 Officers to ensure the safety of the Fuller Middle School community. The quick response came as a preventive measure, demonstrating the vigilance of local authorities in responding to potential security threats in educational settings.
In their report, the police department reassured residents, "At this time K-9 Units have cleared and no weapons were located," lifting the stay in place order shortly thereafter and allowing the school to resume normal operations, parents were notified, and school officials praised the coordination efforts that helped to maintain a blanket of safety over the school's daily proceedings in the face of uncertainty.
