Fulshear Father Charged with Attempted Murder After Allegedly Setting Fire to Home with Children InsideSource: Fulshear Police Department

A Fulshear man faces severe legal consequences after being charged with attempted murder for purportedly setting fire to his home while his three children were inside. As reported by Click2Houston, Pedro Luis Parra Pulgar, 46, was charged with three counts of attempted murder following the incident that occurred on November 6 in Fulshear's Polo Ranch community.

First responders were called to the scene on El Dorado Boulevard at around 9:52 a.m. after neighbors reported seeing flames. According to KHOU, two of the children were able to quickly escape, managing to only sustain minor injuries. However, a three-year-old child was trapped inside and had to be rescued by police officers, who entered the home's bedroom to retrieve the toddler.

The child, after being rescued, suffered from severe smoke inhalation and was subsequently airlifted to a hospital for treatment. The toddler has since been released from medical care. Pulgar, who also suffered injures in the fire, has been released from the hospital yesterday, and was taken into custody at the Fort Bend County Jail.

Judge Argie Brame has set Pulgar's bond at $2.25 million – $750,000 for each count of attempted murder. The motive behind the act has not been publicly disclosed by officials, and the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal’s Office, along with the Fulshear Police, continue to actively investigate the circumstances surrounding this grave event.
