
On the judicial front, a new appointment has just been set by Governor Greg Abbott, who has chosen Benjamin "Ben" Robertson for the Bexar County 226th Judicial District Court bench. According to the Governor's office, Robertson will assume his new role on January 1, 2025, and he will serve until the close of 2026 unless a duly elected successor is set in place.
Robertson has been serving as Judge of Bexar County's 73rd Judicial District Court, bringing both specialized and broad legal experience. He is recognized by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Oil, Gas, and Mineral Law, and his career includes roles as a staff attorney for the Fourth Court of Appeals, as well as positions with Santoyo Wehmeyer P.C. and Cox Smith Matthews Inc. His diverse legal background reflects a range of expertise and experience in the field.
Robertson holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Sam Houston State University, along with a Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University School of Law. In addition to his legal background, he has also volunteered with Rural Dog Rescue, reflecting his involvement in community service.
