The City of Grand Prairie has announced the completion of its Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluative Report (CAPER) for FY 2023/2024. This report reviews the city's performance, activities, and financial details concerning local development projects funded through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Programs. The public is encouraged to review the report and offer any comments on the findings.
An official notice on the City of Grand Prairie website states, "The CAPER and other appropriate documentation which lists the activities, performance, accomplishments, and expenditures for fiscal year 2023/2024 are available to the public." Residents of Grand Prairie can access detailed records of the city's use of federal funding during the past year. These programs aim to develop and improve local communities by expanding affordable housing and ensuring suitable living environments for all citizens. During normal working hours, those interested can review the documents at Housing and Neighborhood Services, 210 W. Main Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.
The local government is looking to involve the community in a 15-day comment period slated to end on December 20. This period allows citizens to actively contribute to the evaluation process to foster transparency and encourage civic engagement. Esther Coleman, Director of Housing and Neighborhood Services, has emphasized community participation, urging "All citizens are encouraged to examine and submit comments regarding the CAPER to the street address listed above."
